International exchanges (faculty members/researchers)

At Kyushu University, to promote interaction between faculty members and researchers at an international level, we are engaged in the “Top Global University Project” and are proactively implementing a range of support projects to both dispatch people overseas and invite overseas researchers and staff to Japan.

○Status of international exchanges for faculty members and researchers (dispatches and intake)

The current state of faculty members dispatched overseas, international faculty members, researchers from overseas and agreements with Universities in other countries, is as shown below.

Kyushu University has concluded partnership agreements between universities (academic: 152, students: 142) and between departments (academic: 255, students: 201). (As of December 1, 2023)

○Intake of foreign faculty members and researchers

The University is positively promoting the intake of excellent personnel from abroad, while using cutting-edge research information to increase the international competitiveness of the University.

○International cooperation

The University holds out Asia pivot strategies and has been providing education, research, technology development and training of personnel in mainly Asian developing countries continuously. The University is involved in projects through collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and supports the establishment of universities abroad based on partnerships between countries.

    ・Higher Engineering Education Development Project (Mongol)
    ・Project for Sustainable Development of Rural Areas through Effective Utilization of Bio-wastes with Highly Efficient Fuel Cell Technology (Vietnam)
    ・Efficient and innovative green / blue hydrogen production technologies development project for carbon-neutral society keeping in mind the characteristics of the region (Uzbekistan)
  2. Supporting the establishment of universities abroad based on the partnerships between countries.
