University Evaluation Information System (Q-RADeRS) and Information on researchers at Kyushu Univers

At Kyushu University, in order to improve both the standard of our education and research, and to fulfill our social responsibilities, faculty members are engaged in inspecting and evaluating their own education and research activities. To publish the results, Kyushu University operates Q-RADeRS (Kyushu University Researcher's Activity Developments & Reports System ) and "Kyushu University Researcher Information". To reduce the burden on faculty members, Q-RADeRS is also linked to internal and external systems.

○Purpose

Q-RADeRS is Kyushu University's faculty database, which consists of plan management functions and performance management functions. The purpose of this system is to have faculty members inspect and evaluate their own education and research activities, both to improve the standard of education and research at Kyushu University and to fulfill our social responsibilities. Specifically, it has five objectives: (1) to gather basic data concerning university management and future planning; (2) to obtain basic data for self-assessment and third-party evaluation; (3) to provide material for use in the Annual Activity Report submitted by faculty members every year; (4) to obtain information for publication concerning international exchange and activities that contribute to society; and (5) to obtain data for internal and external surveys concerning education and research activities.

The Kyushu University Academic Staff Educational and Research Activities Website is an online database created for the disclosure of this information. Among the information items of Q-RADeRS, the data required and selected to be disclosed are extracted from the system.

To achieve this objective, faculty members are asked to enter information about their education and research activities.

○Structure and attributes

Q-RADeRS has seven main categories: Staff Member Basic Information; Education; Research; Social and International Outreach; Administrative Posts; Research Funding; and Clinical Practice. The Academic Staff Educational and Research Activities Database primarily draws from the information about faculty members’ research, formatting it as a web page for each individual faculty member. The key features of the database are as follows.

  • ◆The site is accessed by over 240,000 people per month on average.
  • In cooperation with PURE Research Profiles, we effectively disseminate information on our research achievements. PURE Research Profiles is a collection of research achievements based on data sources such as the Kyushu University Institutional Repository (QIR) , which centrally manages the publication and preservation of academic papers and works, and Scopus, one of the world's largest databases of academic literature.
  • ◆To check the access status of your page, please visit Q-RADeRS (https://hyoka-lab.ir.kyushu-u.ac.jp/).
