○Scientific communication

*Outline

In April 2020, “Q-STRING (Scientific Communication Promotion Group, Office for the Promotion of University Community Relations) was newly established. The purpose is for all members of the University to share the meaning and importance of Scientific Communication and to establish a foundation to encourage cooperative and co-creative interaction with the general public. This group listens to anyone who is interested in scientific communication - students, researchers, corporations, schools or the general public - regarding their thoughts or the research they want to conduct. This group also gives advice and support so that they can cooperate with researchers, experts, students and organizations. If you are interested, please inquire to the contact below.

○Public Seminar

*Event Outline

As an institution open to the public, Kyushu University’s mission is to use and share its education and research results to contribute to society. Thanks to the cooperation of each department, we have various seminars with a fee or free of charge, applicable for a wide variety of people including elementary school students. This provides opportunities for them to learn the results of the university’s specialized and comprehensive education and research.

○Systems for co-hosting

*Outline

“Systems for co-hosting” means using the name of Kyushu University (except the name of a specific department) as a co-host, cosponsor and supporter for events of public interest done by organizations other than the University.
One month before an organization desires to use the name, submit an “Application for permission regarding the use of the name of Kyushu University for co-hosting, etc.”. After reviewing and examining the application, a decision will be made. After the event, a “Report on the use of the name of Kyushu University for co-hosting, etc.”. needs to be submitted.

【Co-hosting】
It means that the University or the University organizations (such as departments) plan and operate events with local government, groups or academic conferences (hereinafter referred to as local government, etc).

【Cosponsor】
The University agrees with the concept of the project as an organization and has certain involvement with events held by a third party such as local government, etc.

【Sponsorship】
Events held by a third party such as local government, etc, and appropriate events wherein the University agrees with the concept of the project.

【Support】
Equivalent to the standard for sponsorship.

○Cooperation with local government

*Outline

The University is involved in various projects based on partnership agreements that it has concluded with the aim of contributing to the local community by forming organic links between the University's intellectual resources and dynamism, and the abundant local natural, historical, and cultural resources of local authorities, among others, in order to upgrade existing industries and create new ones, as well as resolving local issues and achieving progress in education and research activities.

○Western region Five-University Partnership Forum

*Outline

The five universities situated in the west of Fukuoka city - Kyushu University, Seinan Gakuin University, Nakamura Gakuen University, Fukuoka University and Fukuoka Dental College – have concluded a partnership agreement. The purpose is to further enrich and improve education and research activities and enhance faculty and staff members qualifications, as well as establish partnership with local society based on the results of research activities in a cooperative manner. As for educational projects, credit transfer courses and joint courses are available as a joint program. To enhance faculty and staff members qualifications, employee training at each university is open between universities.
